A monastery at the location of an old settlement named «Petrouliniaka», north of Oitylo. It is protected by a wall with one ruined round tower near the gate and a tall square tower inside which has been recently renovated.
The monastery was founded in the 16th or 17th century. According to an unverifiable narration by a local historian (Laskaris, 1886) it was created in 1537 after a victorious battle against the Turks. In any case, the monastery was founded either in the 16th or 17th century.
After the middle of 19th century the monastery became the residence of the family of Petroulas who took the territory by force. It was abandoned after an incident in the Greek Civil war, in 1946, when 7 members of the family were executed there by right-wing opponents.
