Ruins of a tower on a low but steep and overgrown hill, south of the village Goranoi in Laconia.
The tower is at a strategic location overlooking the narrow passage between the mountains south of Goranoi.
The tower most probably dates from the 14th or 15th century. But there is no much evidence to support this hypothesis. We can not rule out the possibility that it was an 18th century tower. During that period, the region was on the frontier between the Ottomans and Mani. It is known that the Muslim Albanians that were hired by the Ottomans (and settled there), had built 46 towers in the area.
