Ruins of an ancient tower which was used also in the Middle Ages. It is on a low rock on the road to the village Kefalovryso of Argolis. The old name of the village was Ano Belesi.
The rock is close to a chapel of Agios Dimitrios.
The tower may have been a guard post and certainly aPrhyctoria at the frontiers between the Frankish fief of Nafplion-Argos and the Byzantine dominion of the Despotate of Mystras.
If this is the case, then it was active between the first decades of the 14th century until 1388 when the Byzantines occupied the area.
