Sirina (meaning «siren») of Chalkis is a tower in a narrow street at the center of the city.
Perhaps it was an old Venetian tower which became a clock-tower around the 18th century (by the Ottomans) and a siren-tower in 1941. In addition, a seismograph had been installed inside in 1900.
The multiple changes in the usage of the tower brought many modifications in its structure to a degree that its Venetian origin is difficult to be verified.
