Daskalio is a small island in the bay of Tolo, 12 km from Nafplio, in the eastern Peloponnese. On the island there is a church, built in 1688, and the ruins of a Venetian castle.
The Venetians used Tolo as a naval base for their fleet in the end of the 17th century, when they recaptured Nafplio and its surroundings. That was the second Venetian occupation of Argolis which ended in 1718 (when the Turks returned). A relic of this period is the fortress (or what is left of it) on the islet of Daskalio.
