Parnon is the mountain which dominates the south-eastern part of Peloponnese. On the eastern slopes of Parnon, between the villages of Kastanitsa and Agios Panteleimon, there is a very interesting gorge, the gorge of Zarbanitsa, ideal for trekking. The “Castle of Zaggoli” is a small fort hidden in a rock in the middle of the gorge.
It must have been more a hideout, for the local population, than a real castle.
