It is not known when exactly the tower was built. It was probably built between the end of the 17th to the beginning of the 18th century. The settlement of Agios Petros is reported for the first time as a Venetian possession in the Grimani census of 1700.
Its name comes from its owner, a Turkish aga who was from the village Trikala in Corinth region, hence the name Trikalitis.
So the tower was the mansion of the local Ottoman lord until the Greek Revolution. After that, for 100 years, from 1836 to 1935, it functioned as a school. It was used again around 1960 but was soon abandoned until 2006 when it was renovated. Since then, it houses a collection of folk articles and is used as a venue for cultural events.
The tower measures 11.5m✖5.5m. It is a 3-storied building with a tiled roof.
