During the Frankish period, there were two towers controlling the mountain passage from the west coast of northern Evia to Mantoudi, in the east coast: the tower of Farakla and this one, the tower of Tsouka.
The tower is inside the village Zoodochos Pigi (previously “Tsouka”) next to the church.
Its layout is square measuring 9 meters on each side. Its height today is 5 meters. Most probably it was built in the 14th century.
