Structure, Fortification & Buildings
Palaiopyrgos of Atalanti is located at the top of the hill, south of Atalanti. Its condition is now in ruins. Only the north side remains at its original length, with 8.10 meters in length, 2.70 meters in height, 1.65 meters in thickness, while minimal extensions of the east (3.70 meters in length) and west sides have been saved.
Rich plaster has been added to assemble local black stones with ceramic elements. The cobblestones seem to have undergone some chipping (semi-finished).
The masonry of Paliopyrgos is similar to the other tower in Atalanti , on Nikotsara Street.
