A lonely tower outside the village of Pyrgos witch obviously took its name from the tower (pyrgos=tower)
History
The tower was built in 1415 by the local lord Giovanni Peliteo. The territory was part of the Duchy of Athens which was under the rule of the Napolitan family of the Acciaiuoli who reigned there from 1385 to 1458.
Structure, Fortification & Buildings
The dimensions of the basis of the tower are 8.0x8.0μ. Its height today is 10.25 m.The walls are 1.85 m thick.
