The remains of a Turkish fort SW of the village Voukolies at the 27th km of the road from Chania to Paliochora in Crete. The fort was built in 1866, in a period when the Ottomans built a lot of fortifications in Crete to secure the island against the Greek rebels.
The tower in the pictures is a modern 'replica' (which in my opinion has nothing to do with the original). But there are quite a few remains of the real 'tower' around. The fort was destroyed in 1897, when a Greek force besieged 400 Turks there.
