A very tiny fort on a very tiny island in the Lefkas Canal, i.e. the strait between the island of Lefkas and the mainland (Aetoloakarnania) to the east.
The fort is to the north of the Castle of Alexandros with which they share the same background.
The two forts in the canal were rebuilt in 1807 when the Ionian islands were in a semi-independent state under the protection of Russian and Ottoman military forces and while the notorious Ali pasha of Yiannena was planning an invasion to Lefkas.
The fort was named Konstantin by the Russians to honor the crown prince and Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich (who never became a Tsar).
