Ovrios is a small island without inhabitants at the west side of Saronicos gulf, very close to the exit of the Isthmus of Corinth.
There is a castle on this island which is visible from a distance. The fortifications are mostly dated in the 17th or 18th century and they are probably Venetian.
However, parts of the eastern and of the western wall are from the early Byzantine period, while there are also traces of Mycenean fortifications.
