Nea Skiti is a monastic settlement in Athos peninsula located at the west side, under the mountain and over a rocky beach. It belongs to the monastery of Agios Pavlos.
The tower is at the northern side of the settlement, on a rock 80m above the sea level. According to the tradition, it exists since the the reign of emperor Justinian in the 6th century, but probably was constructed much later, around 1150.
It is in a rather good condition since it has been renovated recently. The height is 20m, with 4 floors, and the dimensions of the base are 8x7.8m.
