A Turkish outpost on the old frontierline between Greece and the Ottoman Empire which was agreed at the treaty of Constantinople of 1832.
The fort is in a region named Genitsarisses south of Koboti in Arta.
It remained in use until 1881 when the borders moved further to the north and this line of forts became obsolete.
