Remains of a Turkish outpost on the old frontierline between Greece and the Ottoman Empire which was agreed at the treaty of Constantinople of 1832.
The fort is 700m of Agrilos lagoon (part of the Ambracian gulf).
It remained in use until 1881 when the borders moved further to the north and this line of forts became obsolete.
