Right on the National Road Athens-Corinth, under the bridge of the Aspropyrgos junction, lie the ruins of the foundations of a tower from the Frankish period.
The remains are big white stone and marble blocks. They were taken from ancient tombs in the area. The tower was named “Aspropyrgos” (white tower) because of its white color and the whole region was named after it. The name of the nearby town is still “Aspropyrgos”.
