This is the oldest tower of the island and was built by the Genoans between 1355-1375.


Legends & Tales

The area is the place of birth of Briseis (Βρισηΐς) a mythical queen in Asia Minor at the time of the Trojan War. Her character lies at the heart of a dispute between Achilles and Agamemnon that drives the plot of Homer's Iliad.

Like most isolated and neglected towers, the access to the surrounding area is free but the entrance inside is difficult and dangerous.
