One kilometer west of the village Neos Pyrgos in northern Evia island there is a beautiful beach named 'Nisiotissa'. On a small rocky islet named 'Monastiri', a few meters from the seashore lie the remains of a small medieval construction.
It is certainly from the Frankish period (13th or 14th century) but its purpose is not known exactly. From the position one could assume it was a watchtower but there are indications it was just a mill or perhaps a Frankish or Venetian chapel.
