A Byzantine castle for which is not known when exactly it was built. In the 13th century it had been renovated by the local lord Licario, a Latin knight and an adventurer in the service of the Byzantine emperor Michael VIII Paleologos.
The castle is on a steep rock north of Kymi in Evia
Inside the castle there was the small church of Saint George (Agios Georgios) which gave its name to the castle.
The castle is in bad condition today. Only some parts of the wall remain today.
