Ruins of a tower 1 km NW from the village Dafni of Serres region, close to a settlement named Oreskeia.
The tower is on a low hill over the north bank of river Ezovitis.
On the same hill, under the tower, there is a chapel carved inside a rock very close to the tower. The chapel is dedicated to Agia Marina and it is mentioned in a document of the 11th century (under the name “Theotokos tou Spilaiou” i.e. “Virgin of the cave”) as a dependency of the Iviron monastery (of Athos). The name of the nearby settlement at that period was Agios Stefanos.
The tower is dated at the first half of the 14th century.
